Podcast #65 Insomnia

Published in the category General Practice, Health

You spend about one-third of your life sleeping. Both mind and body require sleep. The inability to sleep is called insomnia. Some people with insomnia have trouble falling asleep. Others have difficulty staying asleep. Either way it can be a serious issue.

My sleep problems are sporadic. I can have a month of perfect sleep. Then I have to deal with five nights of poor sleep. I don’t know what triggers my insomnia. Usually I wake up around 2 in the morning. I just lie in bed quietly. I try not to think too much. I stay like that for an hour. After that, I put on the light and read. My eyes get tired and I fall asleep. If I’m lucky I wake up later than usual.

Do you ever have insomnia? If so, I hope my podcasts do not cure it.
